Green Trails Improvement Association Purview

The Green Trails Improvement Association (GTIA) is an Illinois not-for-profit association that maintains approximately 50 acres of property called the Common Area (CA). This includes approximately 16 miles of primarily asphalt trails that weave throughout the Green Trails (GT) subdivision. According to the GTIA Declarations of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions, available at https://www.greentrails.org/government-documents, the GT residents elect the GTIA Board of Directors, which is charged with maintaining the CA. The board has no responsibility, authority, jurisdiction, or control over what happens on other private property such as property owned by the Village, Park District, Right-of-Ways, Streets, or Sidewalks. Additionally, the board does not enforce deed restrictions for private properties within GT or village ordinances. In essence, we are responsible for maintaining the Common Area.
